Students in the Valley View School District are making sure the phrase ‘it’s just a game’ is left at the door by treating competitive eSports with the exact same dedication as traditional athletics.
They will be recognized during Homecoming weekend, highlighted by an on-field presentation at halftime of the Red Wolves’ football game on Saturday, Oct. 24 against Georgia State.
Fall enrollment increased by 4.7% from the record 17,926 students in 2025, marking the university’s sixth consecutive record-breaking fall or spring semester.
The new $25 million hall brings together students from Art + Design, Engineering and Computer Science to collaborate on creative, interdisciplinary projects.
Both groups invite Arkansas State alumni and their families to the Carl R. Reng Student Union from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 11, for a chance to reunite with old classmates and meet new students while learning about important A-State philanthropies.
This marks the eighth year of the recognition program honoring Arkansas State’s outstanding young alumni.

Samantha Hammaker, a junior psychology major from Cabot, was one of five students from across the country selected for the fellowship.
Over the summer, work was completed on the clock tower of Dean B. Ellis Library to repair not only the hands of one of four clocks, but also the bells so they would once again ring.
“Thank you, Dolly. We will always love you,” the Arkansas Imagination Library said.
