Jonesboro Right Now is looking for talented local writers to join our team as Contributing Writers.
This is a flexible opportunity for someone who enjoys writing about the people, places, businesses, organizations and issues that matter to Northeast Arkansas.
What You’ll Do
-Write original stories for Jonesboro Right Now at an agreed-upon frequency.
-Develop story ideas and work with our editorial team to identify topics that fit your interests and expertise.
-Conduct interviews, gather information and produce accurate, engaging stories.
-Build a specialty or focus area based on your interests and experience.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for good writers who are curious, dependable and connected to the community. Journalism experience is helpful, but we’re also interested in people with strong writing skills and knowledge of a particular subject or area.
Your specific story topics and areas of specialty will be discussed and agreed upon when we meet.
Compensation
Contributing Writers are paid on a per-word basis. Compensation and expected story frequency will be agreed upon in advance.
