Jonesboro, AR – JonesboroRightNow.com – Plans are underway to open a new McAlister’s Deli in Jonesboro.
Developer Prateek Gera confirmed to Jonesboro Right Now today that he has a pending contract to sell property at 2024 Fair Park Blvd. to a company that plans to build a new McAlister’s. The location is just south of the Panda Express.
“There’s just a lot of activity in that area with Panda, Raising Cains and Walk-Ons,” said Gera. “We’re thrilled to be able to help bring McAlister’s back to Jonesboro.”
McAlister’s operated for years at 2400 S. Caraway Road behind the former Dixie Cafe restaurant before closing during the early months of the Covid pandemic. That location has been leased to Regina McKay who is moving her Gina’s Place from the former Fountain Square Shopping Center. McKay said in a recent social media post she hopes to be open by June 1.

The new McAlister’s will be operated by Turnkey Investments and owner David Kearbey of Poplar Bluff, MO.
“David owns McAlister’s in Mountain Home, Poplar Bluff and three other locations,” Gera said. “We expect the deal to close in three months or so. David is anxious to get this project built and open.”
Chase Copeland and Carroll Caldwell of Coldwell Banker represent Gera in the sale. Coldwell Banker Village Communities announced on Facebook that McAlister’s Deli was returning to the Fair Park Boulevard area.
“This exciting new addition will join one of the busiest retail and dining corridors in town, surrounded by major national retailers and restaurants,” the post said.
