The dispatcher recorded the following account at 2:18 p.m. Saturday:

“WANTS TO FILE REPORT FOR FIGHT ON THURSDAY // LOBBY WAS DESTROYED // POLICE WERE ON SCENE BUT NO REPORT WAS MADE // HAS VIDEO FOOTAGE AND NAMES INVOLVED // CUSTOMERS ATTACKED STAFF”

The information in the dispatch log represents statements attributed to the caller and has not been independently confirmed by police.

The call log indicates that Jonesboro Police Officer Nathan Swindle was dispatched to the restaurant at 2:21 p.m. Saturday and arrived at 2:29 p.m.

According to an additional entry made by Swindle at 2:39 p.m., the manager requested increased police patrols around the restaurant during nighttime hours. She also asked that officers periodically enter the restaurant’s lobby to provide a visible police presence.

JRN requested a police incident report concerning the Thursday night altercation.

JPD Public Information Official Sally Smith responded that no incident report was available.

“No report, just a call generated. Confirmed by Officer Swindle,” Smith wrote.

Although the dispatch narrative indicates that officers were at the restaurant Thursday night, JRN has not obtained documentation detailing the initial police response or explaining why no incident report was completed.

At this time, it is unclear the extent of the reported damage, whether anyone was injured or arrests were made, or if criminal charges are being considered.

This is a developing story. JRN will provide updates as they are available.
