JPD said after further investigation, the victim had not been shot, instead, he received “severe lacerations during an altercation.” It added that he was still receiving treatment and that the case remained under investigation.

Jonesboro, AR — (JonesboroRightNow.com) — July 7, 2025 — The Jonesboro Police Department is investigating an afternoon shooting that left one person injured, it said.
According to a news release from JPD, the shooting occurred in the 300 block of North Allis Street. A male suffered a gunshot wound and was taken to an area hospital. There’s currently no word on his condition.
“CID [Criminal Investigation Division] is on the scene to begin their investigation,” the news release said. “Officers are seeking a person of interest. Anyone with information on this crime should call JPD at 870-935-5657.”
