Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – April 2, 2024 – A West Memphis man was behind bars Tuesday after a motor vehicle accident ended up landing him several charges in relation to an allegedly stolen firearm that was located in his possession.
A Jonesboro Police Department officer responded to the accident at Munchy’s on Red Wolf Blvd Monday afternoon. Police found a stolen 9 mm Beretta in Gaines’ possession during the course of the accident investigation, according to the report.
The suspect was arrested for possession of a firearm by a certain person, a class B felony, theft by receiving of a firearm, and tampering with physical evidence, both class D felonies.
Gaines is being held in the Craighead County Detention Center awaiting a probable cause hearing.
