Brookland, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Feb. 25, 2025 – The groundbreaking date for the newest building in the Brookland Public Schools (BPS) system has been announced.

The ceremony for BPS’s new intermediate 3rd and 4th grade building will be on March 3 at 5 p.m. The 83,000-square-foot, two-story building is designed to hold 750 students and is scheduled to be completed in time for the fall 2026 school year, according to a news release from the project’s construction manager Nabholz Construction.

The building will feature special education spaces, a Media Center, art and music classrooms, a cafeteria with a full-service kitchen and a multi-use gym that doubles as a storm shelter for the entire school population, the news release said.

A greenfield site nearby will incorporate car-stacking parking with separate faculty and bus drives. There will also be fully accessible playgrounds.

Haag Brown Commercial Real Estate and Development announced BPS acquired land for the new building Feb. 6.

The ceremony will take place at 9482 US-49B in Brookland.
