TLC kicked off a $6 million capital campaign in June of this year to build 20 accessible apartments in Jonesboro, providing safe, affordable housing paired with supportive services that allow adults with IDD to live as independently as possible while remaining connected to the care they need.
“This is a definite need in our community, and we are excited to announce the name of this TLC housing development during our annual Keys to Independence event on Oct. 2,” said Executive Director Dr. Lynn Cooper. “This has been a vision of mine for many years and seeing that we are about to open opportunities for independence for adults with intellectual disabilities is going to change lives. For so many individuals and families, this development represents hope and the opportunity to live more independently while remaining connected to the support they need.”
The event will take place on Oct. 2 at The Lounge at Huntington Square, located at 313 W. Huntington Ave., beginning at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are available for $100 each.
