“We’re excited to get these kits into the hands of people who are ready to roll up their sleeves and make a difference,” said Keep Jonesboro Beautiful coordinator Beverly Parker. “Litter tarnishes streets, neighborhoods, and waterways plus it affects our quality of life. Everyone plays a part in ending littering. According to Keep America Beautiful, if everyone in the U.S. picked up one piece of litter daily, there would be no litter. Our goal is to encourage people to take ownership and do their part.”
Litter kits include a litter grabber, a safety vest, gloves etc. provided by the City of Jonesboro. This initiative supports a shared goal of fostering community pride, responsibility, and environmental awareness throughout Jonesboro.
The library is located at 315 W. Oak Ave. For more information about the library, visit its website, Facebook page, or call 870-935-5133.
