Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – May 10, 2024 – A Jonesboro man was sentence to 45 years in prison Wednesday, May 8, after pleading guilty to the 2023 stabbing death of his wife.

Andre Isabell, 46, pleaded guilty to first-degree in the death of Samantha Phillips, 44, to death in the early morning on May 16, 2023, in the 400 block of Krewson Street.

“Officers were sent to Walgreens located at the corner of Highland and Main in reference to a suspicious person. When they arrived, they made contact with Andre Isabell, who stated to them ‘She is dead,'” according to the probable cause affidavit at the time.

“They asked him who was dead, and he said his wife. Isabell then stated, ‘I killed her’ and ‘Satan told me to do it,'” the affidavit states.

“Officers then went to the address that was given by Isabell and located his wife, Samantha Phillips deceased on the bed. I interviewed Isabell about this case and he advised he knew what he was doing when he stabbed Phillips an he did it because she was cheating on him. Officers were advised there was a valid no contact order against Isabell with Phillips being the victim.”

After accepting the plea deal, Circuit Judge Scott Ellington sentenced Isabell.
