Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – May 10, 2024 – An altercation outside of a residence on Thursday resulted in a Jonesboro man being charged with three felonies and one misdemeanor.
District Judge David Boling on Friday found probable cause to charge Kydarius D. Kennedy, 24, with aggravated residential burglary, a class Y felony, first-degree terroristic threatening a class D felony, possession of a firearms by certain persons, a class B felony, and misdemeanor third-degree battery.
When officers arrived at the residence in the 1400 block of French Street, the female victim said another woman had come to the residence earlier and confronted her about some issue. Kennedy later came to the residence bringing up the same issue while outside. The victim said Kennedy had “a large gun” with him.
The victim told others inside of the residence not to let Kennedy inside, but someone did. She said Kennedy punched her in the face and others made him leave. Standing outside, Kennedy was holding the gun, an AR-15 style rifle and said he was going to shoot up the residence.
Police later stopped the vehicle that they had a description of in which Kennedy was a passenger. They found the rifle that had a 30-round magazine on it and a round in the chamber.
Boling set Kennedy’s bond at $500,000. His next court date is June 28 in Craighead County Circuit Court.
