Jonesboro, AR – Contributed –  The College Baseball Foundation announced Wednesday morning that senior shortstop Patrick Engskov has been named to the Brooks Wallace Award Watch List.

The nation’s top-100 collegiate shortstops are featured each season on the watch list.

The award honors the nation’s top shortstop and will be presented by the College Baseball Foundation later this year. It is named for former Texas Tech shortstop Brooks Wallace, who played for the Red Raiders from 1977 to 1980. Wallace died of leukemia at the age of 27.

Off to a strong start this season, Engskov has batted over .300 through his first 13 games, with the second-most hits on the team (18), and 13 RBIs, and 3 home runs. The Red Wolves are 10-3 after 13 games and will play Louisiana Tech in the second leg of the midweek series after defeating them 10-2 Tuesday night.
