Glunz landed her 26th service ace of the season and Collum added a kill to open an 11-6 advantage early. Later in the set, Whitlock landed a kill in the first of six consecutive points for the Red Wolves and finished the run with another to establish a 12-point lead entering the 35th rally. The second set saw A-State set a new program record for largest margin of victory in a set and fewest points allowed in a set during the 25-point rally era (2008-present). The Red Wolves jumped ahead 9-0 and eventually took a 15-1 lead into the technical timeout. Louisiana Tech posted a kill in the first rally out of the break, but seven kills, an ace, a block and an attack error moved the Scarlet & Black ahead 23-2.
A-State claimed two of the next three points to move ahead 2-0 in the match. The program record for largest margin of victory in a set since 2008 previously stood at 20, when the Red Wolves took the third set over UT Arlington by a 25-5 decision on Oct. 14, 2021.

The Red Wolves established control beyond that point, taking 11 of the next 14 rallies to create a 22-12 score.
Whitlock picked up her 20th kill of the match and followed with a solo block to set up Madigan’s match-winning kill.
