Lois Ann Fluke, 78, of Pocahontas passed away Thursday, April 18, 2024 at Walnut Ridge Nursing and Rehab Center.
She was born October 25, 1945 in Doniphan, MO to the late Woodrow and Geraldine Williams Grissom. Lois was a longtime cook for IGA and later Price Chopper grocery stores and was of the Baptist belief.
Lois was best known for her cooking. If you ever had a hot plate lunch from Price Chopper from 2000-2010 then you know how good of a cook she was. Going back to the IGA days, Lois helped prepare many different dishes like potato salad, rotisserie chicken, and many other delicious dishes. Her kids favorites were scalloped potatoes, chicken and dumplings, potato soup, and meatloaf.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Woodrow and Geraldine Grissom.
Lois is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Ann (Donald) Boucher of Noland; son, Sam (Phyllis) Fluke of Maynard; grandchildren, Breanna and Bayleigh Fluke of Maynard, Erica (Jeremy) Dunlap of Pocahontas, and Dylan (Hailee) Boucher of Ravenden; great grandchildren, Eli and Justin Dunlap of Pocahontas, and Alma and Wilder Boucher of Ravenden; niece, Emily (Brandon) Willhoite of Pocahontas; great nieces, Sophia and Phoebe Willhoite of Pocahontas; siblings, Glenna Lewis and Doug Grissom; and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 23, 2024 from 1-2 PM in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home with a funeral service beginning at 2 PM with Dennis Barber officiating. Burial will follow in Siloam Cemetery.
Honored to serve as Pallbearers are Jimmy Lewis, Donald Boucher, Dylan Boucher, Jeremy Dunlap, Stuart Blalock, and Darryl Bates.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Casey Lewis, Breanna Fluke, Bayleigh Fluke, Anita Chastain, Debra Abbott, Sandra Parker, Emily Blansett, Melissa Henley, Stacy Hoggard, Dianne Finley, Robin Bates, and Karen Magin.
The family would like to extend special thanks to nurse Cara Price and aides Blair Liscomb and Sarah Tweedy from Walnut Ridge Nursing and Rehab for their outstanding care and love. Thank you to Sandra Parker and Emily Blansett for all they did and for being a great friend. Thank you to cousin Mary Klingle for calling mom and the countless cards she sent.
