Jonesboro, AR — (JonesboroRightNow.com) — July 12, 2025 — A level-two sex offender from Jonesboro, already behind bars on a $1 million bond, faces another charge after police said he failed to comply with state reporting requirements.

According to an affidavit, 44-year-old Cecil Aldridge was assessed as a level-two sex offender in February 2003 after being convicted of sexual assault in Nov. 2002.

On May 13, an officer was contacted by Stephanie Mazzarti with the Federal Probation Office in Little Rock about Aldridge relocating to Forrest City.

The affidavit said the officer went to the registered address in the 4200 block of Sydney Cove in Jonesboro, provided by Aldridge, and could not make contact. A neighbor told the officer that she had never seen Aldridge at the address. The management office for the property also confirmed Aldridge was not a resident there.

The officer then checked Aldridge’s driver’s license and learned he had obtained one with an address in the 1000 block of North Izard Street in Forrest City on April 11. Court records showed that Aldridge was arrested in Forrest City on May 10 and provided the same address on Izard Street at the time of his arrest.

Arkansas state law says any changes for registered offenders must be completed no later than five days before the offender establishes a residence or temporary domicile.

On July 11, Judge Barbara Halsey found probable cause to charge Aldridge with failure to comply with reporting requirements. The affidavit noted that Aldridge refused to accept the charge and did not sign it. He also refused to speak at Friday’s hearing without an attorney present.

Halsey gave Aldridge a $75,000 cash/surety bond for the charge. He was already being held in the Craighead County Detention Center on a $1 million bond for possession of firearms by certain persons.

Aldridge’s next court appearance is scheduled for Aug. 21.
