Accident Shuts Down U.S. 49B in Brookland; Helicopter Requested

Brookland, AR – Jonesboro Right Now – A motor vehicle accident has completely closed U.S. 49B at the north end of Brookland this evening.

Jonesboro E911 reported the crash at 4:42 p.m. iDrive Arkansas is showing slowdown along the highway.

Craighead County Assistant Chief Deputy Jason Allen said that Arkansas State Police are at the scene, and that an emergency medical helicopter has been requested to the site.

Drivers are advised to find alternate routes and avoid the area around U.S. 49 and U.S. 49B until the scene is cleared.
