Brookland, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – March 29, 2024 – Two 18-year-olds and a juvenile were arrested Thursday, March 28 after police were called to the Brookland Hills subdivision about multiple houses having their doors kicked in, according to a Brookland police affidavit.
Officer Josh Whitley stopped a truck for having a loud exhaust. Inside the vehicle were the driver, Austin Mayfield-Moore, and two passengers, Nicholas Andrews and a juvenile. Whitley quickly developed the three as suspects in the damaged doors case, the affidavit said. When told their Miranda rights, Mayfield-Moore, of Jonesboro, asked for an attorney, but Andrews, of Brookland, voluntarily spoke with Whitley.

Andrews told Whitley that they were the three who had kicked in five doors at residences in the neighborhood, the affidavit said. The three were then arrested.
At an interview later at the Craighead County Sheriff’s Office, Andrews told Whitley the three had gotten the idea to kick in the doors from a national TikTok video and thought it would be fun.
During the interview, Whitley asked Andrews if anyone video-taped the door kicking ins, and Andrews said he did on his phone. The video showed three doors being kicked in, the last of which is a residence of a Paragould police officer who lives in Brookland. Andrews said they knew a police officer lived there because a car with a spotlight was parked there.
The video also shows the three bragging about their exploits en route to the scene, the affidavit said. Andrews said the vehicle they were in belonged to Mayfield-Moore’s grandmother.
Andrews is currently out of jail on a $35,000 bond for a January 2024 commercial burglary, felony theft, first-degree criminal mischief, and criminal trespass out of Brookland.
Because of his history, District Judge David Boling set Andrews’ bond at $200,000 on charges of first-degree criminal mischief, unauthorized use of another person’s property to facilitate certain crimes, a Class B felony, and misdemeanor criminal trespass.
Boling set Mayfield-Moors bond at $100,000 for the same charges.
The juvenile was turned over to the Craighead County Juvenile Department.
Mayfield-Moore and Andrews next court date is May 24 in Craighead County Circuit Court.
