Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Dec. 23, 2024 – Police were recently called to the Harps Grocery Store in Brookland regarding an employee who was threatening others.
According to the report, officers spoke to store employees who said 30-year-old Ashley Delong had become “dark” and “standoffish” in the last few months. They were aware that Delong always had a gun in her vehicle, and she regularly talked about going to the shooting range.
One employee said Delong had made suicidal and homicidal statements to her. She said that Delong had threatened to kill two other employees and that she would “shoot Harps up”.
Delong denied the accusations during a police interview. She did confirm to officers that she had a loaded handgun in her vehicle. When she was read her rights, she requested an attorney.
As she was being arrested, she also denied police consent to get the gun out of the vehicle. Later, officers got a search warrant and found a revolver in the driver’s side door panel.
Delong was booked on a charge of terroristic threatening at the Craighead County Detention Center. Also, based on her reported homicidal/suicidal nature, a mental health screening was requested. She’s been criminally banned from all Harps stores and has been issued a no-contact order with the employees she reportedly threatened.
She’s been charged with two counts of terroristic threatening and one count of making a terrorist threat. She was given a bond of $100,000 cash or surety and a court date of Jan. 24.
