Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Oct. 16, 2024 – Jonesboro police recently responded to a residence after a neighbor called dispatch about a man with a gun.

A female victim was inside the house with a man who was reportedly threatening to shoot her because she did not come home when he told her to. When officers arrived, they knocked at the door and identified themselves.

Officers could hear the victim tell someone in the house that she needed to open the door for police before she stopped communicating with the officers. A man told officers through the door that he needed to put some clothes on, but right after that, they heard the sounds of a scuffle and the woman could be heard crying. Because of this, officers forced their way into the house.

They found the man lying on the floor and got him into handcuffs. The woman told them that throughout the night, the man had become increasingly violent. She said several times that he pointed a gun at her and threatened to kill her. Officers found the gun and transported the man to the Craighead County Detention Center.

In his probable cause hearing, the man was charged with kidnapping, assault and terroristic threatening.

He was given a court date of Dec. 17 at 8:30 a.m. and a $150,000 c/s bond with a GPS ankle monitor.
