Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Oct. 2, 2024 – The man involved in the weekend stabbing was charged Wednesday with one count of 1st degree battery.
32-year-old Juan Bautista-Campos was given a bond of $1 million c/s and a court date of Nov. 14 at 8:30 a.m.
On Sept. 29, Jonesboro police were dispatched to St. Bernard’s Hospital about a man suffering from multiple stab wounds. Upon further investigation, officers determined the victim was assaulted at home on Matthews Avenue.
Detectives on scene found several areas on the ground with blood and a knife with blood on it.
According to the probable cause affidavit, Campos stabbed the victim multiple times in an unprovoked attack. A witness told officers Campos asked to be picked up and taken to catch a bus in Texas, as he had been involved in an incident recently and wanted to “leave town in a hurry.”
Campos was taken into custody Sept. 30.
