Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Sept. 18, 2024 – A couple was charged with aggravated robbery on Wednesday.

According to the probable cause affidavits, on Sept. 13, a victim had friends over for a party at a residence on Melrose Street, including Margarita Rocha, 24. Rocha brought her boyfriend, Daquon McCather, 20, to the party.

The victim stepped outside, and upon returning, saw McCather rummaging through her purse. When confronted, McCather reportedly became violent, physically assaulting a victim and pointing a handgun at another victim and her male friend. McCather then grabbed the male victim’s key fob and he and Rocha fled the area on foot together.

McCather reportedly tried to start the male victim’s car but could not. He returned later that day, brandishing a handgun and robbed the male victim of his car. McCather fled the scene in the stolen car.

On Sept. 17, Jonesboro police officers attempted to locate McCather, where he was reportedly staying with Rocha. Upon arrival, officers made contact with Rocha, where she said she’d just woken up and denied knowing if anyone else was in the apartment. She was taken to custody and later told officers McCather was hiding in the apartment.

The Jonesboro police SWAT team entered the apartment and found McCather hiding in a kitchen cabinet. He was taken into custody.

McCather is charged with two counts of aggravated robbery and one count of theft of vehicle valued at $25,000 or more. He was given a court date of Oct. 28 at 8:30 a.m. and a bond of $100,000 c/s. Conditions of the bond are a GPS ankle monitor.

Rocha is charged with one count of aggravated robbery and one count of hindering apprehension or prosecution. She was given a court date of Oct. 28 and a bond of $50,000 c/s.
