In this video provided by Doug Thomas, several hundred BEES can be seen hovering on and around a vehicle parked in the Walmart parking lot.
Doug told JonesboroRightNow that he drove up and saw the bees, then heard someone say that there was a person inside! He began recording with his cell phone about the time JFD showed up.
JonesboroRightNow spoke with Jonesboro Fire Captain and Battalion Chief Shawn Nance who advised that a Jonesboro mother picked her children up from school and needed to run to Walmart for a few things. The kids, old enough to be alone, decided to stay in the car. They dozed off while mom was shopping and were startled awake when a firefighter yanked open their door!
Turns out, someone in the parking lot had called 911 about an unresponsive person in a vehicle that just happened to have bees all over it! The occupants of the vehicle were just asleep (not unresponsive) and had no idea about their bee friends there until authorities arrived! Chief Nance said that JFD actually ended up going inside Walmart to page mom and let her know what was happening with her vehicle.
JRN attempted to contact E911 find out the fate of the swarm after the video was taken, but was unable to obtain that information at this time.
