Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Feb. 14, 2025 – A Jonesboro woman who is a registered sex offender has been accused of living too close to a park.

While standing before Judge Scott Ellington, 43-year-old April Sutton was charged with one count of failure to comply with sex offender registration requirements and one count of a registered offender living near a school/daycare/park. Both are Class C felonies.

According to the court documents, Sutton was convicted of incest in 2004 and was assessed as a Level 3 sex offender, meaning the offender has a history of repeat sexual offending.

A registered sex offender assessed as Level 3 or Level 4 cannot live within 2,000 feet of a public or private school, daycare, or public park, according to Arkansas law.

On Feb. 13, Sutton was arrested at 2007 Belt Street, Apartment 3 for failure to comply with reporting requirements and living within 1,634 feet of Phillip Evans Community Park. Sutton made no attempts to contact JPD to update her address, the affidavit said.

Sutton was given a $20,000 cash or surety bond and a court date of March 20.
