We sat down with Aaron Vowell, Resident Engineer with ARDOT District 10, to talk about the status of current and future projects going on in Jonesboro.
The committee voted 5-1 for the project, with council members Joe Hafner, Dr. Anthony Coleman, Dr. Charles Coleman, David McClain, Ann Williams and Janice Porter voting for the project. Council member LJ Bryant voted against it.

The resolution, which hasn’t been decided yet by the Public Works Committee, has already received criticism from a Jonesboro City Council member.
“This probably will be the largest event in the state,” the Chief said. “We’re going to deal with it. We’ll take it as it comes and adjust accordingly.”

The intersection is blocked – drivers are asked to avoid the area.
Alternating lane closures are scheduled on Highway 63 in Jonesboro from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily beginning Tuesday, March 26 and continuing until the project is complete.
