Aaron Keller, who retired from JFD in 2008 after serving as chief since 2004, is researching the history of the department, which was founded 125 years ago on March 27, 1899.

“I’ve been in public service for 15 years and it’s been an honor to serve this community in my parks capacity and now I’m looking forward to serving in a county capacity in my new role as County Administrator”

For his cabinet, Jonesboro artist Matt Ball chose the Diana Fritillary, the state butterfly of Arkansas; “They’re so colorful and beautiful…everyone loves a butterfly.”
