The Jonesboro City Council approved the 2026 operating budget Tuesday night.
The resolution to purchase three lots of land, including property where the former Citizens Bank building once stood, was sent back to the Finance and Administration Council Committee.
Work will begin soon on 45 new bus shelters.

According to a resolution, Jonesboro would purchase three lots of land for $750,000.
The budget passed with only one dissenting vote and includes employee raises and possible building expansion.
The search for a general manager of the upcoming Ridge Athletics Center is now underway.
