More than 1,100 students were named to the Fall 2024 Dean’s List in the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Arkansas, with students from Jonesboro making the list.
Philosopher Dr. Jeffrey Carroll, assistant professor in the John Chambers College of Business and Economics at West Virginia University, will present at the next Lecture-Concert event with his presentation “Go Fast and Break Things.”
University of Alaska Fairbanks student Ty Nichols of Jonesboro has been awarded a NextGen scholarship from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Jonesboro residents gathered Tuesday night to hear about the future of the Martin Luther King Jr. Freedom Trail and give their thoughts on an art project to be installed along the way.
Arkansas State University was the home of many Martin Luther King Day celebrations, including high school band performances, song and dance routines from local groups, and a keynote speaker presentation.
“The program is structured to facilitate bringing in speakers from other areas to provide insight into soil, water, and environmental concerns as a holistic concept,” Benson said. “The program has grown to include Industry and government sponsors who support the conservation work that the conference promotes.”
