
JPD has identified the person killed in the Friday night shooting

The suspect is accused of coming after her 52-year-old boyfriend with a pocket knife.

When police arrived at a residence on Timms Street, they found the 34-year-old victim throwing women’s items in a trash can near the street.

“The internal investigation has been completed, and Burns has been terminated for violation of department policy effective today.”

Inside the vehicle, officers found multiple identification cards and credit/debit cards belonging to local individuals.

“She opened the garage and a solid gray cat matching the description ran outside.”

The suspect told the deputy during the traffic stop that he was a convicted felon and had a firearm on him.

The 23-year-old man was attempting to cross the intersection of Main and Nettleton.

While interviewing the suspect, he claimed that the victim had struck his heel with a machete.

The suspect is confined to house arrest until July 1 and can only leave his residence for medical treatment.
