Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Nov. 8, 2024 – Christmas is around the corner and bell ringers are at the ready as The Salvation Army of Jonesboro prepares for their holiday campaigns.
These events include the Red Kettle Campaign, the Angel Tree and the Senior Silver Angel Tree.
“It is not just this time of year, but each day of the year, we focus on those that are lonely and need encouragement, but especially this Christmas season.” said Salvation Army Captain Charles Smith.
The Christmas Kettle Kick Off begins Nov. 15 at 10 a.m. in front of the Centennial Bank on Highland Drive in Jonesboro. The event will provide information about the goals for the Christmas Kettle and Angel Tree campaigns.
The bell ringing season starts each November and runs through Christmas Eve. Smith encouraged people to come and volunteer for the campaigns.
“If you have never volunteered with The Salvation Army before, come and give it a try. You can volunteer for an hour or for the entire day. Be part of something special by helping make a difference in the lives of so many this holiday season, and all year round,” Smith said.
