Jonesboro, AR (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Sept. 20, 2024 – A man was charged on Friday with threatening a soccer coach and his team.
When Jonesboro police arrived at the soccer fields on Dan Avenue, the coach and his team had already left the area due to concern for the team’s safety.
According to the probable cause affidavit, 62-year-old Thomas Bennett of Los Angeles walked toward the team and yelled profanities. He reportedly shouted, “Don’t kick that f*cking ball near me or I will f*cking kill you.”
Bennett was criminally banned from the soccer fields at the request of the Parks Department. He reportedly began walking toward the roadway and yelling obscenities at cars pulling into the park. Officers placed Bennett into custody for disorderly conduct.
Bennett is charged with one count of first degree terroristic threatening and one count of disorderly conduct. He was given a bond of $15,000 c/s and a court date of Oct. 28.
