Jonesboro, AR — (JonesboroRightNow.com) — July 15, 2025 — The Downtown Jonesboro Alliance (DJA) announced Tuesday that the Selfie Wall in downtown Jonesboro will be repainted.
The repainting coincides with the recent remodel of the historic two-story at the corner of Main Street and Monroe Avenue, which once housed Dr. F.J. Pittman’s Palace Drug Store and later Reid’s Drug Store.
DJA executive director Sarah Doss said the building is now the new home of AWN LLC, a franchisee of Tommy’s Express Car Wash, and the offices of Construction Network, Inc., a Jonesboro-based commercial construction company.
“There’s been lots of renovations going on in that building,” Doss said. “It sold a few months ago and they have done a complete renovation on the inside as well as tons of things on the outside, which includes just a fresh coat of paint on the entire facade of the building. They’ve already done the back and the front and have kind of saved the selfie wall for last and unfortunately, they are going to have to paint over that just to complete their renovation.”
She said the new owners were very proactive and reached out to the DJA quickly about the wall and they have been working together on this project.
Doss said there will be some new art in the Selfie Wall’s place; however, it is unclear when work on new art will begin or what it will be yet.
“It’ll be privately commissioned through them, although we are we are assisting as much as we can,” she said. “They’re eager to get it replaced with something and just wanted to go about it the best they could since they were so sad to have to cover up that artwork. But it’s had lots of great years there and we’ve had lots of good traction about it. We’re just excited to be able to see what’s to come.”
Part of the Arkansas Delta Byways’ Public Murals Art Trail, the Selfie Wall features several murals commonly used for selfies. These murals include: “Lips” by Beau Jones, “Umbrella” by Shannon Lamb, “Cherubs” by Braden Walls, “Hearts” by Angie Jones, “Goldfish” by Jarod Brown, “Butterflies” by Matt Ball, “Staircase” by Cam Robinson, and “Queen Card” by Tiger Sasha.
A Facebook post from the DJA said while the organization is “so excited for what’s to come, it’s a little bittersweet saying goodbye to this downtown fave. Stop by this week and show her some love before the makeover begins.”
