Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Oct. 2, 2024 – A victim was held at gunpoint during a vehicle robbery at Crowley’s Ridge Road on Tuesday, police said.

Upon arrival, officers found multiple vehicles parked in the roadway and one in a ditch. They then found the suspect, 64-year-old Freddie Lee Holmes, of Wynne, lying on the ground on his stomach. Officers noted a strong odor of intoxicants on him when they made contact. Holmes was taken to St. Bernards Hospital for evaluation.

While on the way, Holmes reportedly attempted to escape multiple times. After he was cleared, he was transported to the Craighead County Detention Center for testing.

Reportedly, Holmes refused to sign and urinated on himself to prevent officers from acquiring a urine sample.

He was charged with one count of breaking or entering/articles from a vehicle, one count of theft by receiving $1,000 or less, one count of disorderly conduct, one count of driving while intoxicated, and one count of refusal to submit.

He was given a court date of Nov. 14 at 8:30 a.m. and given a bond of $50,000 c/s.
