Walnut Ridge, AR (JonesboroRightNow.com) – January 16, 2024 – As a result of the prolonged impact of recent winter weather in the region, Williams Baptist University (WBU) has made the decision to suspend all in-person instruction and close academic and business buildings for Wednesday, January 17.

In an effort to ensure continuity of education, students are advised to monitor their WBU student email accounts and access V-Camp for updates on assignments and classes.

The Mabee-Gwinup Cafeteria will operate under a modified schedule, serving brunch from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and reopening for dinner from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. during this period of closure. The Eagle Grill will remain closed until normal campus operations resume.

Students enrolled in Williams Works programs and student athletes are encouraged to liaise with their respective supervisors and coaches for updates on work, game, and practice schedules.

Essential personnel are urged to consult with their supervisors for further guidance.

With safety as a top priority, all individuals on campus are urged to exercise caution while navigating the grounds and to avoid areas where snow accumulation is evident. Motorists are reminded to exercise caution as road conditions may be hazardous.

University officials remain vigilant in monitoring weather conditions and pledge to keep students, faculty, and staff informed regarding any future delays or cancellations. For additional updates, individuals are advised to consult local news outlets or the National Weather Service.
