Jonesboro, AR — (JonesboroRightNow.com) — April 3, 2025 — Westside Consolidated School District said school would be in session Friday, April 4, after closing due to storm damage.
The district was closed on Thursday to assess damage from Wednesday night’s storms. In a Facebook post, the district said it was confident that the school was “safe and ready for students.”
“After working on the grounds and high school gymnasium all day, and after consulting with a structural engineer about the high school gym, we are now confident that our school is safe and ready for students,” the post said. “I want to thank everyone for their support of not only our school, but our community. WarriorNation is strong and thriving!”
The school will be opening under normal hours.
In another Facebook post, the district said the front of the gym will be closed off for student use due to damage.
“Students will not be able to use these doors as an entrance or exit from the building. The entrance at the high school office and the entrance under the cafeteria awning will be the entrance and exit points into the building during the school day,” the post said.
It added that student drop-off and pickup procedures remain unchanged, with students entering the building using the cafeteria entrance.
