Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Westside Consolidated School District students will no longer dismiss early on Thursday due to last week’s school closures.
In a news release, Westside Superintendent Chris George said the planned early dismissal for Thursday, Feb. 5, for parent-teacher conferences would no longer be happening. Instead, students will attend the full school day.
Parent-teacher conferences will still take place from 3:30 to 8:30 p.m., as previously scheduled, the news release said.
“While an early release had originally been planned for Thursday, an additional school closure this week has led us to adjust that plan. Due to weather, students missed all of last week and school again on Monday. In addition, some students may not have been able to attend on Tuesday because of road conditions in their area,” George wrote. “Given the amount of instructional time that has been missed, our priority is getting students back into classrooms for a full day of learning as soon as possible.”
Students will also attend school on Friday, Feb. 6, which will serve as the first snow make-up day. Refer to the district’s social media to see make-up dates for the other snow days.
