Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – March 28, 2025 – “We wanted to show some Jonesboro hospitality.” That was Jonesboro Media Group President/Vice President Trey Stafford’s comment about the lunch the media group team served to workers with the D.H. Griffin Company Friday under the pavilion at the new Union Street Park.
“Each week our radio stations take lunch to businesses in the community,” Stafford said. “This week we wanted to meet this team of workers who have come into our community to do a hard job. It was great to put names and faces with the people we’ve seen doing the work there the last three weeks.”
Nabholz Construction, based in Conway, was awarded the job of tearing down the old Citizens Bank building on January 21, 2025. Nabholz sub-contracted the demolition job to the D.H. Griffin Company. Demolition is Griffin’s specialty.
The Griffin workers removed the short building on the West side of the tall bank structure the first week. It took the workers the last two to get the tall building down. “All that is left of the tall building now is the safe and the basement,” said Alice Williams, onsite office manager, “We still have to deal with taking out and filling in the basement.”
“Jonesboro is one of the nicest communities we have ever been to,” said Joe Camon, one of the workers. “The people here have been great to us.”
“You guys on the radio are something else,” Scotty Williams said. He told Stafford that he and many on the crew have been listening to he and Jim Frigo each morning on 104.9 The Fox. “We heard you say you wanted to bring us some food,” Williams told Stafford. “That other guy (Frigo) asked you if you had seen those guys down there! He said I bet they can eat a lot! We really appreciate ya’ll doing this for us.”
The food served to the workers was provided by the sponsors of the radio stations’ At-Work Perk program. Ron’s Catfish Buffet on 104.9 The Fox and Munchy’s Specialty Sandwiches on 100.5 The Eagle.
