Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – As temperatures plunge this week, warming shelters will be open across Jonesboro.
The City of Jonesboro posted on its Facebook a list of daytime warming shelters, which will be housed inside Community Centers across the city.
While the city’s shelters will be opening during the daytime, the Salvation Army of Jonesboro will be offering an overnight shelter at 800 Cate Ave., which will also provide two free meals. Check-in is from 4-5 p.m., and checkout follows breakfast. This will be open as long as temperatures are below freezing.
Jonesboro Economical Transportation (JET) buses and trollies will be providing free transportation to and from all warming shelters.
The city’s shelters are listed below:
- Allen Park Community Center (3609 Race St.)
- Monday through Friday, 3:30 to 9 p.m., and on Saturday from 12 to 5 p.m.
- Earl Bell Community Center (1212 S. Church St.)
- Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and on Saturday from 12 to 5 p.m.
- Jonesboro Youth Community Center (1421 W. Nettleton Ave.)
- Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and on Saturday from 12 to 5 p.m.
- Parker Park Community Center (1506 N. Church St.)
- Monday through Friday 3:30 to 9 p.m., and on Saturday from 12 to 5 p.m.
