Craighead County, AR — (JonesboroRightNow.com) — May 20, 2025 — The U.S. Marshals Eastern Arkansas Fugitive Task Force partnered with local law enforcement agencies in a four-day initiative known as Operation NEON Summer 2025, which aimed to target violent offenders in Craighead and Crittenden Counties.

The operation, which ran from May 13-16, focused on individuals involved in gang activity, illegal firearm possession, narcotics trafficking, and sex offenses. According to a news release from the U.S. Marshals Service, during the operation:

  • 28 arrests were made
  • 32 felony arrest warrants were cleared
  • 4 firearms were seized
  • 965.5 grams of marijuana were confiscated
  • 109.7 grams of methamphetamine were recovered
  • 3.3 grams of fentanyl were seized
  • 31 ecstasy pills were collected

“This is more than just arrests—it’s a coordinated effort to suppress crime and take violent offenders off the streets, allowing communities to heal and grow,” said Cory Harris, Acting U.S. Marshal for the Eastern District of Arkansas, in a news release.

Partnering law enforcement agencies were the Jonesboro Police Department, Arkansas State Police, Craighead County Sheriff’s Office, Crittenden County Sheriff’s Office, West Memphis Police Department, Marion Police Department, 2nd Judicial Drug Task Force, Homeland Security Investigations, and the Pafford EMS STRIIK Team.

“Operation NEON Summer is about taking direct action against the individuals causing the most harm in our communities,” said Erik Johnson, Special Deputy U.S. Marshal in a news release. “The Eastern Arkansas Fugitive Task Force is proud to lead this operation alongside our local and state partners to restore safety and stability.”
