Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – January 1, 2025 – Online jail records indicate there were only two New Year’s Eve alcohol-related driving arrests in Craighead County.

A 55-year-old Jonesboro man was arrested and booked into the Craighead County Detention Center at 10:50pm Tuesday night after being ticketed for misdemeanor driving-while-intoxicated (DWI). That man was released at 11:00am Wednesday morning.

A 35-year-old Jonesboro man was arrested and booked into the Craighead County Detention Center at 6:54pm Tuesday night after being ticketed for misdemeanor driving-while-intoxicated (DWI). He was released at 10:20pm Tuesday night.

State and local law enforcement agencies have been working overtime during this holiday season to identify and arrest drunk drivers on Arkansas streets and highways.  The heightened enforcement campaign spans seventeen days, beginning December 18th and continues through Friday, January 3rd.  Increased saturation patrols are part of the initiative designed to keep Arkansas roadways safe during the Christmas and New Year holiday period.
