Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Jan. 15, 2025 – A Jonesboro woman found with several drugs, including fentanyl, during a traffic stop on Tuesday was given a $125,000 cash-only bond.
An officer with the 2nd Judicial Task Force conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Loberg Lane and Rosemond Avenue on Tuesday due to the driver not wearing a seatbelt and running a stop sign.
When officers made contact with the driver, 37-year-old Kathryn Cole, they could smell marijuana coming from the car. While searching the vehicle, the officer found a pill container with one amphetamine pill, one 20-milligram dextroamphetamine pill, one clonazepam pill, and five alprazolam pills.
Officers took Cole into custody and transported her to the Craighead County Detention Center. Upon arrival, officers discovered a baggie with a powder, which was later confirmed to be fentanyl through field testing.
According to the probable cause affidavit, Cole reportedly “placed the baggie in the back seat.”
Cole is charged with one count of possession of fentanyl, one count of possession of Schedule I or II drugs not meth or cocaine less than two grams, one count of tampering with physical evidence, one count of possession of Schedule IV or V drug less than 28 ounces, not wearing a seatbelt, and running a stop sign.
She was given a $125,000 cash-only bond and must wear an ankle monitor if she posts. Her next court date is Feb. 28 at 8:30 a.m. and she’s being held in the Craighead County Detention Center.
