Update (3:40 p.m.): The signals are back on. According to dispatch notes provided by Jonesboro Police Department Public Information Official Sally Smith, a downed line was reported along Southwest Drive.

The notes indicated that the workers cut the line and wrapped it around a mailbox. Fire personnel were assigned to respond to the scene.

Jonesboro, AR – Jonesboro Right Now – A power outage has caused traffic signals at two Highland Drive intersections to go out.

Jonesboro E911 dispatch reported at 2:23 p.m. that traffic lights are currently non-operational at the intersections of Rains Street and Highland Drive, as well as Southwest Drive and Highland Drive.

City Water and Light’s outage map reports that approximately 1,150 people are currently without power across Jonesboro, with over 700 affected throughout the Southwest Drive area and its surrounding neighborhoods.

Drivers are advised to use alternate routes to avoid congestion and potential accidents. Those who do come across a non-operational signal must treat it as a four-way stop.
