Monette- Tommy “Peewee” Gathright Jr., 66, passed away Friday, February 9, 2024 in Jonesboro.

He was born November 19, 1957 in Paragould to the late Tommy and Leona “Tootie” Gathright. He was a 1977 graduate of Monette High School. Pewee was everyone’s best friend. He was as loyal as they come, and he never missed a chance to pester anyone with his witty sense of humor. He enjoyed showing up to any one of his friend’s house with no notice, just to spend the day back-roading and laughing with them.

He spent many years farming with his Dad and Uncles on Gathright farm’s. He created an uncountable amount of memories with people from all over, while he ran the local watering hole, known as the “Red Onion Bar”, in the Missouri Bootheel. Peewee also had a love for hunting, fishing, and watching football while he vacuumed; however, his best time was spent with his daughter, son-in-law, grand babies, and his dog Daisy. He will be missed for many years to come.

He was survived by his daughter, Christina Gathright and husband, Brandon Lairsey; mother of his daughter, Patty Gathright; step-sons, Michael Arant Jr and Corey Arant; sister, Tammy Milligan; grandchildren, Beckham Lairsey, Collier Lairsey, Macie Arant and Raelynn Arant; uncle, Jack Gathright (June); aunt, Judy Climer, Norma Gathright, Liz Gathright and Barbara Tate; nieces, Misty Fowler, Brandy Ray and Erika Harlan and nephew, Austin Milligan and a host of cousins and friends.

There will be a celebration of life for Peewee at 1:00 p.m. Sunday Feb. 18, 2024 at Robert Harrell’s shop at 940 Hwy 135 South Black Oak. 72414. Everyone who knew him is welcome.

Arrangements were entrusted to Gregg Funeral Home.
