Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Dec. 19, 2024 – Jonesboro police have arrested a man in connection with the murder of another man.
Anthony David Barnes, 63, is accused of murdering 52-year-old Brian Glen Presley. According to the incident report, Presley was found with “multiple injuries to the entirety of [his] body.” These injuries include severe lacerations and internal injuries.
Officers initially investigated a “suspicious” death Wednesday morning, in which they took a person of interest, later identified as Barnes, into custody. Officers found Presley dead when they arrived at his home in the 6700 block of E. Highland Drive, according to the incident report.
According to the incident report, Barnes and Presley were friends. The report listed the circumstances for the death as an argument.
Barnes is charged with second-degree homicide, according to online jail records. He was arrested on Wednesday, Dec. 18 at 1:57 p.m.
Presley’s body was sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab.
