Stella Louise Boyd, 75, of Paragould, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at the Green House Cottages of Belle Meade. She was born May 10, 1948, in the Alexander community to the late Whitfield Brooks Boyd and Grace (Hill) Boyd.

Stella attended West View Baptist Church and loved serving the Lord.

Quilting was a special passion of Stella’s, and she made many beautiful creations during her life. Family and friends say another passion of hers was talking. Stella loved to talk to anyone and everyone that would listen. When she wasn’t quilting or telling a good story, Stella loved to read and to listen to music, especially anything by Elvis Presley. She also enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals.

In addition to her parents, Whitfield and Grace Boyd, she was preceded in death by siblings: Vernon “Burr” Boyd, Herschel Boyd, Walter Boyd, Marie Vaughn, and Mary Elizabeth McGinnis.

Stella leaves behind brother, Joe (Audi) Boyd; sister, Wilma Fowler; life-long friends, Bill and Bonnie Walls; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M., Tuesday, March 5, at Mitchell Funeral Home with Bro. Marc Reeves officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service. Burial will immediately follow services at Clark’s Chapel Cemetery.

Stella’s nephews and family members are honored to serve as pallbearers.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nursing home staff of the Tuberville Cottage for the special care and compassion given to Stella during her stay at Belle Meade.
