Jonesboro, AR – Jonesboro Right Now – The Arkansas Department of Human Services is proactively reviewing past cases handled by a former Craighead County Family Service Worker who was arrested this week on 44 counts of possessing or using child sexual abuse material.

While public records confirm 35-year-old Gregory Curtis Daffron was not employed by the state at the time of the investigation, the severity of the charges has prompted internal action at the state level.

“We are disgusted to learn about these allegations, and we will provide any support needed to law enforcement as their investigation continues,” Gavin Lesnick, Chief of Communications for the Arkansas Department of Human Services, told JRN in a statement Thursday. “While this individual has not been an employee of the Division of Children and Family Services for more than a year, we are proactively reviewing cases he worked on and will follow up if anything concerning is revealed.”

According to official personnel files obtained by JRN through a Freedom of Information Act request, Daffron was hired as a Family Service Worker for the Division of Children and Family Services on June 8, 2017. He worked out of the Craighead County DHS office on Browns Lane Access Road in Jonesboro. The documents show he voluntarily resigned on May 2, 2025, from his final role as a Program Assistant.

“We have zero tolerance for people that hurt children, and this individual should be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law if these accusations are confirmed,” Lesnick added.

Daffron was arrested the morning of Tuesday, Sept. 22, after the Jonesboro Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Division, JPD SWAT, U.S. Marshals, and the FBI executed a search warrant at his residence.

According to a probable cause affidavit, the investigation was initiated in early September following two cybertips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), which flagged a Google account that had uploaded 44 videos containing child sexual abuse material.

During a probable cause hearing on Sept. 23, District Judge Tommy Fowler charged Daffron with 44 counts of the class B felony. His bond was set at $250,000 cash or surety, and he is strictly prohibited from accessing the internet on any devices.

Judge Fowler noted the total number of charges could eventually exceed 100 as the investigation continues.

Daffron is scheduled for his next court appearance on Oct. 26.
