Jonesboro, AR — (JonesboroRightNow.com) — March 19, 2025 — St. Bernards Healthcare will be hosting several community events to encourage wellness, including a Community Wellness Screening, a Fish Fry Fundraiser, and a Children’s Health Day.

Community Wellness Screening for Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month:

As March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, St. Bernards will be hosting several free health screenings at the upcoming Community Wellness Screening on Friday, March 21, from 7-10 a.m. at the St. Bernards Auditorium, located at 505 E. Washington Ave.

These screenings include a free colon cancer screening, as well as blood pressure, height, weight, BMI, anemia, glucose, hemoglobin A1C (3-month average blood sugar), and lipid panel (total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, triglycerides). For accurate results, fasting for at least 12 hours is suggested, although water is OK.

Fish Fry Fundraiser for Rock Steady Boxing:

St. Bernards Health and Wellness will be hosting a Fish Fry Fundraiser to support its Rock Steady Boxing program on April 11, from 4-7 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall, located at 1103 E. Highland Drive.

Rock Steady Boxing program is an exercise program adapted to people with Parkinson’s disease. Serving both men and women of all ages and levels of ability, the program involves regular exercises, such as stretching, running, jump-roping, push-ups, balancing, and non-contact boxing, led by experienced trainers and coaches.

Children’s Health Day:

St. Bernards will be hosting its annual Children’s Health Day on April 12, from 9 a.m. to noon at St. Bernards Auditorium, located at 505 E. Washington Ave.

Children will receive free height and weight checks, hearing and vision screenings, vaccinations, and shot records.

It will also provide basic CPR and AED demonstrations, fingerprinting by the Jonesboro Police Department, resources on babysitting classes, certified child therapist; and more.

Children can explore walkthrough inflatables, including the Junior Auxiliary of Jonesboro’s “Molly the Mega Body,” which takes visitors on journey through the human body, and the AR Cares’ “Mega Brain,” which starts in the frontal lobe and continues through the cerebellum.

Other activities include Dance and Craft with the Foundation of Arts, as well as various trucks and vehicles for kids to explore.

There will be grab-and-go healthy snacks, and a chance to win a free bike and other prizes.
