Jonesboro, AR — (JonesboroRightNow.com) — July 16, 2025 — While getting a wellness screening, members of the community can also donate to a good cause.
St. Bernards will be collecting non-perishable food items during its upcoming Community Wellness Screening, which it hosts each month for Northeast Arkansas residents.
Tammy Dunigan, St. Bernards health education coordinator, said the event is a chance for participants to give back this summer.
“There is a greater need in the summer with kids out of school. It’s just an opportunity to help give back to the community,” Dunigan said, noting that high-protein items are especially needed. “Protein items tend to be more expensive and are harder to come by. It’s an important part of our diet. Peanut butter and high protein meats are good items, but anything is appreciated.”
The screening will take place on Friday, July 18, from 7 to 10 a.m. at the St. Bernards Auditorium, located at 505 E. Washington Ave.
During this event, participants can receive a variety of free health screenings, including blood pressure, height, weight, BMI, vision, hearing, anemia, glucose, hemoglobin A1C, and lipid panel (total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, triglycerides).
Participants can also receive a free colon cancer screening. For accurate results, fasting for at least 12 hours is suggested, although water is OK.
