The Jonesboro Sanitation Department & Keep Jonesboro Beautiful Commission have teamed up to provide a practical solution for residents looking to spruce up their yards this spring. By offering free paper lawn bags at the upcoming Neighborhood Clean-Up event on Saturday, April 6th, from 8 am to 12 pm at Huntington Church, they aim to encourage environmentally friendly waste disposal practices.

These paper lawn bags offer numerous benefits, such as being biodegradable and recyclable, making them an eco-conscious choice for yard clean-up. Residents are invited to grab a free bundle, with a limit of one per household, and experience the convenience and sustainability firsthand.

The City of Jonesboro warns that yard waste cannot go to the landfill, and plastic bags cannot go to the incinerator. Plastic bags filled with yard waste must be opened up and emptied by hand into the incinerator, slowing down yard waste pickup. These paper bags allow more frequent pickups and contribute to city beautification efforts by decreasing the time yard waste bags are left sitting out.

We extend our gratitude to Jonesboro Sanitation & Code Enforcement for their efforts in organizing these Neighborhood Clean-Ups, which are open to all residents. Let’s join hands to keep our neighborhoods clean and beautiful, one paper lawn bag at a time.
