Shirley Mae Hester, 85, of Bono, Arkansas passed away on April 17, 2024 at St. Bernard’s Medical Center. She was born on February 25, 1939 in Black Rock, Arkansas to William and Lorene McCarrol Gibbens. She worshipped at the Abundant Life Church and devoted her time to the senior center and helping where she could. She drove a school bus for Westside School for 31 years and was loved by many there. She enjoyed cooking, going to dances and listening to the bands, and playing bingo.
Survivors include; her brother: Jerry Gibbens (Barbara) of Jonesboro, Arkansas; one grandson: Austin Ford of the home; two step-children: Chris Ford (Jennifer) and Patsy Corbett (Jeff) both of Bono, Arkansas; two nieces: Julie Gibbens of Fayetteville, Arkansas and Sara Glenn (Ron) of Mountain Home, Arkansas; and a host of other family and friends. She was preceded in death by; her parents: William and Lorene Gibbens; and two children: Lynette Hester and Chipper Ford.
Pallbearers: Eddie Lard, David Davis, Joel Cullen, Billy Cagle, Austin Ford, and Chris Ford. Graveside services will be held on April 20, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Cemetery with Gary Mashburn officiating under the direction of Faith Funeral Service.
