Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – August 12, 2024 – Jonesboro police investigated an anonymous tip about a school threat over the weekend.

An anonymous tip to police involved a student unhappy with their class schedule.

The tip included a screen shot of a message thread. Annie Camp was the school mentioned when it was sent to the Craighead County Sheriff’s office.

One of the texters in the thread talked about wanting to go “shoot the school.” Over the screen shot was the title “We mad cs we ain’t got classes tg.”

Police contacted Annie Camp and asked about a student named Emily Gonzalez, because that was the name mentioned in the tip, but no one by that name is enrolled at Annie Camp.

Additionally, at the time of the tip, the school schedules hadn’t even been released yet.

Other schools were contacted, but the story was the same… no enrolled students had that name.

At this point, police do not believe that there is a legitimate threat in any Jonesboro school district. There is no way to trace the origin of the tip since it was submitted online and done anonymously.
